"Almost everything starts with a scribble." That sentence pretty much sums up the essence of my art. This holds true except when I purposely work on representational works such as fish or other animals.
The beginning of most of my work really is that first scribble, that emotive movement from the unconscious brain to my hand to the paper or canvas.
From there it takes on shapes and most often with loud music playing in my studio, adds to the almost trance like world my mind goes into. Shapes and colors are chosen to bring forth new discoveries of design and pleasure. In some ways, each piece of art is, to me, like giving birth. They are hard to part with or sell, but to continue making more, I have learned to let go.
For my upcoming show, I wanted to also share with a cause, and I picked "The Nature Conservancy," for their dedication in preserving all the wild life that they are so good at protecting.
I want to very much thank Albert Castiglia and Graham Wood Drout for their generous contribution to the re-emergence of my fine art career-----having given it up for too many years. But working with blues musicians such as Albert Castiglia and now going back to being a visual artist is truly a blessed journey. I thank you all for being a part of that. And last, but certainly not least, I need to thank Steve Meeks, Sr. and Borders Frame, for literally pushing me back to my art - you get my most sincere gratitude!!
I hope you as the viewer will enjoy these works of art and help me donate to "The Nature Conservancy," by buying a piece of art. My show on January 9th in Miami will give everyone who can attend, a chance to see the pieces and get close to the energy of the colors and movement.
After the show closes, I will reopen the store online and update the inventory that is available.
